And Godsaid,Let there belight:and there waslight. And Godsawthe light, thatit wasgood:and Goddividedthe lightfromthe darkness. And Godcalledthe lightDay,and the darknesshe calledNight. And the eveningand the morningwere the firstday.
And Godsaid,Let there bea firmamentin the midstof the waters, and let it dividethe watersfrom the waters. And Godmadethe firmament, and dividedthe waterswhichwereunderthe firmamentfrom the waterswhichwereabovethe firmament:and it was so.And Godcalledthe firmamentHeaven. And the eveningand the morningwere the secondday.
And Godsaid,Let the watersunder the heavenbe gathered togetheruntooneplace, and let the drylandappear: and it was so.And Godcalledthe drylandEarth;and the gathering togetherof the waterscalledhe Seas:and Godsawthatit wasgood.
And Godsaid,Let the earthbring forthgrass, the herbyieldingseed, andthe fruittreeyieldingfruitafter his kind, whoseseedisin itself, upon the earth: and it was so.And the earthbrought forthgrass, andherbyieldingseedafter his kind, and the treeyieldingfruit, whose seedwasin itself, after his kind:and Godsawthatit wasgood. And the eveningand the morningwere the thirdday.
And Godsaid,Let there be lightsin the firmamentof the heavento dividethe dayfrom the night;and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:And let them be for lightsin the firmamentof the heavento give lightupon the earth: and it was so.And Godmadetwogreatlights;the greaterlightto rulethe day,and the lesserlightto rulethe night:he madethe starsalso. And Godsetthem in the firmamentof the heavento give lightupon the earth,And to ruleover the dayand over the night, and to dividethe lightfrom the darkness:and Godsawthatit wasgood. And the eveningand the morningwere the fourthday.
And Godsaid,Let the watersbring forth abundantlythe moving creaturethat hathlife, and fowlthatmay flyabovethe earthin the openfirmamentof heaven. And Godcreatedgreatwhales, and every livingcreaturethat moveth, which the watersbrought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every wingedfowlafter his kind:and Godsawthatit wasgood. And Godblessedthem, saying,Be fruitful, and multiply, and fillthe watersin the seas, and let fowlmultiplyin the earth. And the eveningand the morningwere the fifthday.

So Godcreatedmanin hisownimage,in the imageof Godcreatedhe him; maleand femalecreatedhe them.
And Godblessedthem, and Godsaidunto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenishthe earth, and subdue it:and have dominionover the fishof the sea,and over the fowlof the air,and over every living thingthat movethupon the earth. And Godsaid,Behold,I have givenyou every herbbearingseed, whichisupon the faceof all the earth, and every tree, in the whichisthe fruitof a treeyieldingseed;to you it shall befor meat. And to every beastof the earth, and to every fowlof the air,and to every thing that creepethupon the earth, whereinthere islife,I have givenevery greenherbfor meat: and it was so.And Godsawevery thing thathe had made, and, behold,it wasverygood. And the eveningand the morningwere the sixthday.
Thus the heavensand the earthwere finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventhdayGodendedhis workwhich he had made;and he restedon the seventhdayfrom all his workwhich he had made. And Godblessedthe seventhday, and sanctifiedit: becausethat in it he had restedfrom all his workwhich Godcreatedand made.
Thesearethe generationsof the heavensand of the earthwhen they were created,in the daythat theLordGodmadethe earthand the heavens,
And every plantof the fieldbeforeit was in the earth, and every herbof the fieldbeforeit grew:forthe LordGodhad notcaused it to rainupon the earth, andthere wasnota manto tillthe ground. But there went upa mistfromthe earth, and wateredthe whole faceof the ground.Andthe LordGodformedmanofthe dustofthe ground, and breathedinto his nostrilsthe breathof life;and manbecame a livingsoul.Andthe LordGodplanteda gardeneastwardin Eden;and therehe putthe manwhomhe had formed. And outof the groundmadethe LordGodto growevery treethat is pleasantto the sight, and goodfor food;the treeof lifealso in the midstof the garden, and the treeof knowledgeof goodand evil.
And a riverwent outof Edento waterthe garden;and from thence it was parted, and became into fourheads. The nameof the firstisPison:thatisit which compasseththe whole landof Havilah, wherethere isgold; And the goldof thatlandisgood: thereisbdelliumand the onyxstone. And the nameof the secondriverisGihon: the sameisit that compasseththe whole landof Ethiopia. And the nameof the thirdriverisHiddekel: thatisit which goeth towardthe eastof Assyria. And the fourthriverisEuphrates.
Andthe LordGodtookthe man,and put himinto the gardenof Edento dressit and to keepit.Andthe LordGodcommandedthe man, saying,Of every treeof the gardenthou mayest freelyeat:But of the treeof the knowledgeof goodand evil, thou shalt not eatof it: for in the daythat thou eatestthereof thou shalt surelydie.
Andthe LordGodsaid,It isnot goodthat the manshould bealone; I will makehim an help meetfor him.And out of the groundthe LordGodformedevery beastof the field, and every fowlof the air;and broughtthemunto Adamto seewhat he would callthem: and whatsoever Adamcalledevery livingcreature, thatwasthe name thereof. And Adamgavenamesto all cattle, and to the fowlof the air,and to every beastof the field;but for Adamthere was not foundan help meetfor him.And the LordGodcauseda deep sleepto fallupon Adam, and he slept:and he tookoneof his ribs, and closed upthe fleshinstead thereof; And the rib, which the LordGodhad takenfrom man, madehe a woman, and broughther unto the man.
And Adamsaid,Thisisnowboneof my bones, and fleshof my flesh:sheshall be calledWoman, because shewas takenout of Man.
Thereforeshall a manleavehis fatherand his mother, and shall cleaveunto his wife:and they shall be oneflesh. And they were bothnaked, the manand his wife, and were not ashamed.
Now the serpentwasmore subtilthan any beastof the fieldwhich the LordGodhad made. And he saidunto the woman,Yea,hath Godsaid,Ye shall not eatof every treeof the garden? And the womansaidunto the serpent,We may eatof the fruitof the treesof the garden:But of the fruitof the treewhichisin the midstof the garden,Godhath said,Ye shall not eatof it, neither shall ye touchit, lestye die.And the serpentsaidunto the woman,Ye shall not surelydie:For Goddoth knowthat in the dayye eatthereof, then your eyesshall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowinggoodand evil. And when the womansawthat the treewasgoodfor food, and that itwaspleasantto the eyes, and a treeto be desiredto makeonewise, she tookof the fruit thereof, and did eat,and gavealsounto her husbandwith her; and he did eat.And the eyesof them bothwere opened, and theyknewthat theywerenaked;and they sewedfigleavestogether, and made themselvesaprons.
And they heardthe voiceof the LordGodwalkingin the gardenin the coolof the day:and Adamand his wifehid themselvesfrom the presenceof the LordGodamongstthe treesof the garden. And the LordGodcalledunto Adam, and saidunto him, Whereartthou? And he said,I heardthy voicein the garden, and I was afraid, because Iwasnaked;and I hid myself. And he said,Whotoldthee that thouwastnaked?Hast thou eatenof the tree, whereof I commanded theethat thou shouldest noteat? And the mansaid,The womanwhom thou gavestto bewith me,shegaveme of the tree, and I did eat.And the LordGodsaidunto the woman, Whatisthisthatthou hast done? And the womansaid,The serpentbeguiled me,and I did eat.
And the LordGodsaidunto the serpent,Because thouhast donethis, thouartcursedabove all cattle, and above every beastof the field;upon thy bellyshalt thou go,and dustshalt thou eatall the daysof thy life:And I will putenmitybetween thee and the woman, and between thy seedand her seed;it shall bruisethy head, and thou shalt bruisehis heel.
Unto the womanhe said,I will greatlymultiplythy sorrowand thy conception;in sorrowthou shalt bring forthchildren;and thy desireshall beto thy husband, and he shall ruleover thee.
And unto Adamhe said,Because thou hast hearkenedunto the voiceof thy wife, and hast eatenof the tree,of whichI commanded thee, saying,Thou shalt not eatof it: cursedisthe groundfor thy sake; in sorrowshalt thou eatofit allthe daysof thy life;Thorns alsoand thistlesshall it bring forthto thee; and thou shalt eatthe herbof the field; In the sweatof thy faceshalt thou eatbread, tillthou returnunto the ground;for out of it wast thou taken:for dustthouart, and unto dustshalt thou return.
And Adamcalledhis wife’snameEve;because she was the motherof all living.Unto Adamalso and to his wifedidthe LordGodmakecoatsof skins, and clothed them. And the LordGodsaid,Behold, the manis become as oneof us, to knowgoodand evil:and now, lest he put forthhis hand, and takealso of the treeof life, and eat,and livefor ever:Therefore the LordGodsent him forthfrom the gardenof Eden,to tillthe groundfrom whence he was taken. So he drove outthe man;and he placedat the eastof the gardenof EdenCherubims, and a flamingswordwhich turned every way,to keepthe wayof the treeof life.
